Looking ahead: strengthening peace education

As part of its 30th anniversary year, UWC Red Cross Nordic launched an Experiential Peacebuilding training in partnership with the Outward Bound Center for Peacebuilding, bringing together educators from across the UWC movement. kkk

Participants from seven UWC schools and colleges took part alongside partner organisations. Through workshops, shared reflection and a winter expedition in Sogndal, they developed practical tools for dialogue, inclusion and conflict transformation.

This work is now shaping a more consistent approach to peace education across UWC, with a stronger focus on lived experience and practical skills. A second round of the training was delivered in January 2026.

The next phase is to build on this shared approach, equipping more educators and embedding these practices more widely across the movement.
