In focus: learning to navigate difference
For more than sixty years, UWC has brought young people from different and sometimes conflicting backgrounds together to live and learn side by side. In this environment, students learn how to navigate disagreement and hold complexity without stepping away from it. Peace is built through daily experience, rather than being taught as an abstract ideal.
That experience depends on access. In 2025, 88% of IBDP students selected through UWC national committees received financial support and33% were fully funded.
UWC perspectives were part of wider international discussions on equitable education and leadership during UN General Assembly Week and the Clinton Global Initiative. Alumni and partners contributed to conversations about how education systems can respond to division, instability and political uncertainty.
The stories leaders tell about a crisis determine whether we emerge from it the same or stronger. The climate crisis is in part a communications crisis that requires engaging with stakeholders across political affiliations, industries and nations.
