Partner spotlight: Teach For All
Helping young people learn how to lead in a changing world is central to both UWC’s Climate Action and Leadership Initiative and Teach For All’s approach to climate education. Across the Teach For All network, climate learning is rooted in real places and real lives, encouraging young people to build understanding, work together and take action.
This perspective reflects what UWC sees across its schools and colleges, where students bring different experiences of climate impact into shared learning spaces and learn alongside others from around the world.
Teach For All is a partner in the Young Aurora award, which supports UWC student teams to develop responses to humanitarian challenges, many shaped by climate pressures.
“Climate change deeply impacts students and communities around the world today, and students need to be supported in building the resilience, skills and agency to navigate this deeply uncertain world. Across the Teach For All network, this starts by rooting learning in children’s lived realities and moving beyond understanding to action, collaborating on locally rooted solutions to pressing community needs. Making this possible at scale requires an ecosystem of collective leadership, where teachers are co-learners with their students and education systems recognise the critical importance of climate teaching and learning.”
